Job Overview

The Operations Coordinator provides critical customer service and support for facilities management, security and guest services coordination at the Level 1 reception desk of the SCS downtown DC Campus during a flexible, rotating shift. They provide reception duties - greeting and checking in visitors, providing direction and answering questions regarding SCS operations and class schedules - and work closely with security and provide operational support to other members of the Operations Team, as needed.

The Operations Coordinator works closely with the other Operations Team to ensure support and transparent transitions for internal and external events; uses their thorough knowledge of SCS programs, daily operations and security protocols; serves as liaison to staff, students, faculty and visitors at SCS; and perform light manual labor as needed.

As well, they support SCS's goal of high stakeholder satisfaction, increasing tuition revenues and customer satisfaction; and supports the Operations Team on all aspects of successful school-wide operations, focused specifically on making sure customer service and security is provided at the highest level during all shifts.

Work Interactions

  • Daily interaction with other Operations Coordinators, Director of Facilities, Executive Director of Operations, security team, SCS staff, students, faculty and visitors
  • Close collaboration and communication with SCS security team
  • Communication with facility vendors
  • Support to Tropaia and Commencement, as do all SCS staff members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 to 4 years of progressive administrative experience in educational setting preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to provide very high levels of customer service, professionalism and time management skills
  • Knowledge of University offices, computers and financial systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfortable responding to telephone and email inquiries
  • Proficiency in the use of University protocols and student policies
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Google Drive, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Time management skills and attention to detail
  • Detail-oriented team player
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and a welcoming, helpful demeanor
  • Enthusiasm and ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Willingness to enforce the University's policies
  • Basic knowledge of facilities maintenance
